As I’m sure darn near no one outside of Jappan knows, this game is a sequel to one of the most popular handheld games in Japan, Game Boy Color Wars. This game is the best reason to own a Game Boy Advance. It’s masterfly designed. The major problem with the first one was the incredibly steep learning curve, the reason for no American relaese. However, this is definatly not the proplem(if there are any) here. There is an incredibly extensive manditory tutorial mode wicth makes is so simple, justabout any one who can read can play. But, the game is still incredibly deep. you’ll find yourself having to face armys with just plain better troops than yours. The CO, or commanding officers, each have thier own uique abilities called CO powers. Ranging from reapaing all of you battle worn units, to see thru the phenomenaly frustrating fog of war. The CO also have streghts and weakness. For example, the CO Kanabi has better stats for his units but they’ll take 20 more percent of the original cost out of you pocket. Believe it or not this game has an actual plot to it as well. You’ll have to find out what the heck it could be on your own. The gameplay is turned based, simialr to the popular borad game risk, but you won’t be rollong dice, the stats determine everything. All in all #5 on my alltime favorite game list behind the likes of Zelda and Final fantasy games. Did I for get to mension the infinite replay value from the link mode and ability to create your own map? The best handheld I’ve ever played.
