Crap everywhere I turn…
“I am judge, jury and executioner and you shall obey my every word”
People say that at this time of the year, there’s always a drought of good videogames. Well, woopiedee-fucking-doo!
Is that supposed to be some type of an excuse?
At this very moment, I can’t make up my mind about many different things, and one of them is the hobby that I like to call videogaming… What the hell happened? Now, when I walk into the local game store, I browse and browse the aisles for the longest of times, sometimes walking away with a new game in hand, but ever more often walking out with absolutely nothing! I began to question myself and wonder if videogames have lost their touch. I no longer even have the urge to play them, let alone review a game. I often find myself passing off current and future review projects to my fellow staff member Osei Tyson, whereas just a few months ago I wouldn’t even hesitate to begin typing a review the moment I finished a title. I blame this on the lack of good games. It’s not that there aren’t enough games coming out, it’s just that they all fucking suck! Nearly every game I’ve gotten my hands on since the GameCube’s Ikaruga and a few select games such as Moto GP 2 and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, is deserving of being thrown into a pile of monkey feces, with the rest of the shit. The games I’m talking about are titles like Enter the Matrix, Hulk, and MegaMan Network Transmission. Sure, if you read reviews from this and other sites, they seem like pretty average games, yet not bad ones. Well, an average or mediocre game isn’t what I’m looking for. I’m looking for something that is worth my damn money and unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it’s going to get better anytime soon. There are a few titles such as Knights of the Old Republic, F-Zero GX, and Soul Calibur II on the way, but that just isn’t enough damn it! I don’t want to have to wait for the Holiday Season for my Metal Gear Solids and Final Fantasies. We need something now! But we’re unfortunately out of luck. Because of this and the recent craptacular gaming event we like to call E3, I’ve lost my faith in the gaming industry.
So I like to end this rant with something simple…
Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, Konami, Rock Star, and all the rest… Fuck you very much!
