Nintendo releasing Dev Kits Wisely...
June 21st, 2001 (12:00am) - Due to the response gained by Nintendo at E32001, many developers have seen that GCN is a platform to develop, thus shortages are occurring in GCNs dev kits. Due to this fact, Nintendo is making sure than any Development Company, independent included, must have a contract with a publishing company to develop a game for GameCube. This will ensure that Dev Kits wont go to waste on those just looking at the hardware. Nintendo has also stated that any independent developers who do not have a contract with a publisher at this time to start their game on another systems dev kit, reassuring that the transition from their hardware to the GCNs will be rather easy. Obviously, the shortage of dev kits does in fact show a tremendous response from E301, and hopefully more news will become available as to what companies have signed on to develop games for the GCN. More as it arrives... |Eagle| Reported by Talon Ireland on June 21st, 2001 (12:00am)
