EA talks Madden on GameCube...
July 11th, 2001 (12:00am) - Last week, IGN posted a story about Electronic Arts scaling back the version of Madden NFL 2002 for GameCube. This week, EA contaced IGN again to clear up what might have been said. The only part of the game that will get scaled back, according to EA, is the data thats related to the games Franchise mode. More specifically the career statistic tracking for players. This will get cut off the finished drawing board due to space limitations with Nintendos own DigiCard, which only holds about 512K, whereas in order to use this feature, the saves would take up about 1.3MBs, like the PS2 version. EA is said to be still exploring the idea of using the memory from SD Cards which can hold far more data, and are relatively fair in price, considering the recent cut-back recently. These cards would be used with Nintendos SD Digicard Adapter, allowing you to use the cards with the system. EA also said that they are looking into enhancing the graphics in the GCN version with higer quality textures, which the GCN does really well, more bump-maps on both coaches and players. But, these are just ideas as the game is still early on in the development for the GCN. More as it develops. |Eagle| Reported by Talon Ireland on July 11th, 2001 (12:00am)
