Nintendo Announces Accessory Prices...

July 14th, 2001 (12:00am) - Nintendo finally released the pricing information for a few of their accessories for use with GameCube, and a few changes have been made.

Nintendo GameCube Controller--$20 (2500yen)
If the only prices that were announced were that of Japan, some US prices are lower. I’m sure this $20 dollar mark is interesting in most cases and can easily compete with the prices of competitor controllers.

GameCube Wireless Wavebird Controller--N/A
The price was not announced for the WaveBird, as many gamers had hoped. However, with the normal GCN controller at a low $20, it seems to me that Nintendo wanted the WaveBird to compete more with competitors controllers than the original. Most likely, this controller will probably retail at roughly 30-35$.

Memory Card 59--$11 (1400yen)
This card was known as the DigiCard now has a different name, which has reference to its 59 available save blocks. If the card will keep this name is unknown, but should become clearer come SpaceWorld. Though the card has "blocks" the games that use them will change greatly depending on which one is inserted.

SD Memory Card Adapter--N/A
This adapter will solve all problems associated with the lack of storage in the Memory Card 59. It allows users to insert SD Memory Cards into the back of it, and these cards range from 8MB to 64MB, with sizes like 256MB, 512MB, 2GB, and 4GB varying arrival in the coming years. The 4GB card should be available by 2004.

D Terminal Video Cable--$30 (3500yen)

Component Video Cable--$30 (3500yen)

S-Video AV Cable--$20 (2500yen)

Stereo AV Cable--$12 (1500yen)

Monoaural AV Cable--$10 (1200yen)

AC Adapter--$25 (3000yen)

As wear near launch, prices for the SD Memory Card Adapter and GCN WaveBird should become available, as these are accessories according to fellow gamers, that people are aching to find out the prices of. Expect more at Spaceworld. |Eagle|
