Another Blunder for Microsofts Xbox

August 9th, 2001 (12:00am) - Malice, the title that Microsoft used to demonstrate the immense power of Xbox at its Gamestock event earlier this year is heading to ps2. The Playstation 2 may not be the only format we will see. Considering that Microsoft chose not to publish the title, leaving it open to the highest bidder.

"Each platform has advantages and disadvantages over others," Says Argonaut Chief Executive Jez San . "The PS2 and Xbox are quite similar in many ways but they diverge in others. For instance, Xbox has more memory (64MB as opposed to 24MB), plus it has a hard drive to cache the disc loading and make things move along much faster the second time you play a level of a game."
However, "PS2 has fast pixel fill rates and other advantages like DMA engines for moving memory around quickly, and lots of co-processors. We’re confident our PS2 and Xbox engines will really push the hardware. Malice is a high-end action adventure employing state of the art rendering technology, as well as other cool innovations.

More news on this to come later.
