Playstation 2 Price Drop (Japan)
November 27th, 2001 (12:00am) - Sony has announced it is to drop the price of the Playstation 2 in Japan to 29,800 (that’ $239 in the US and £170 in the UK) Yen from the existing price of 35,000 Yen. The price change will take effect from November 29th. Even with the recent Playstation 2 price drops around the globe Sony of America is still holding its ground regarding the $299 price point in the US. With the release of two rival systems from Microsoft and Nintendo and the holiday season baring down upon us Sony may have to reconsider it’s pricing.
