Free Online Play for Final Fantasy XI
December 25th, 2001 (12:00am) - At an event held recently at the Tokyo International Forum, Square CEO Yoichi Wada announced that they plan to let FFXI players access the PlayOnline network for free instead of charging a monthly fee as originally planned, in an effort to increase software sales.
No official word on if Final Fantasy XI will or will not see a release on the Xbox or GameCube as of yet, but Square has shown interest in doing so. Reported by Michael Robinson on December 25th, 2001 (12:00am)
