Microsoft Licenses Deep Exploration
March 22nd, 2002 (12:00am) - Microsoft has reportedly licensed Deep Exploration, a series of game production tools developed by Right Hemisphere Inc, for use on the Xbox. The technology will allow developers to quickly and easily take advantage of the advanced Xbox graphic capabilities by providing them the ability to instantly preview advanced 3D graphics from any of the popular 3D modeling packages, and translate between any of these packages at whim. In addition, Deep Exploration Xbox Edition is the ideal interface for fine-tuning aspects of Xbox specific art. Deep Exploration Xbox Edition will be available Q3 2002 from Microsoft as part of the Xbox Development Kit.
"Deep Exploration Xbox Edition will help give more power to the Xbox artist," said Drew Angeloff, Xbox Tools and Middleware Program Manager. "Microsoft selected Right Hemisphere because of the unique translation solution, flexibility and openness of their technology and because of their strong reputation in the game development community."
