Project Egos name revealed?
March 25th, 2002 (12:00am) - According to rumour spreading through the UK today, Big Blue Boxs astonishing-looking potentially groundbreaking action-RPG has been renamed to Fable.
"Weve been looking at a couple of different names," confirmed Big Blue Box managing director Simon Carter, although he claimed to be unaware of any definite name change for the title. "Ive actually just come back from GDC (the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, USA)... Ive absolutely no idea. I havent actually been back into the office to check on what the hells been going on." Its been known for some time that Big Blue Box - a satellite developer for Black & White developer Lionhead Studios - was looking for a new name for the game. Originally, the title was to be Alter Ego, although copyright issues quickly put paid to that idea. Curiouser and curiouser. Sony has long since renamed its gothic adventure Fable to Primal, so theres a good chance the name is actually free for use. Lionhead could not comment on the matter today.
