Taiwan software developer to modify Dreamcast games for Xbox

March 28th, 2002 (12:00am) - Taiwan-based software developer AnimaTek announced that it will modify 12 Dreamcast games for Sega to support Microsoft’s Xbox game console. AnimaTek is expected to fetch NT$300 million in net profit from the project.

AnimaTek pointed out that it received the contract through its parent company, Cool Net Entertainment (CNE), which formed a strategic alliance with Sega recently. Ever since Sega terminated the Dreamcast and began to focus on game development, the company has wanted to modify some of Dreamcast’s more popular games to suit other game platforms.

AnimaTek is scheduled to unveil the first of the 12 games in July and five others by year- end.
