Dead or Alive goes Hollywood

March 13th, 2002 (12:00am) - The same group of Hollywood people bringing House of the Dead to the big screen are about to do the same with Tecmo’s Dead or Alive fighting game franchise. Mindfire Entertainment has acquired the worldwide rights to produce live action movies based on the Dead or Alive franchise. This means animated specials and DOA movies on Mars are still a possibility for some savvy entrepreneur out there.

"To us, ’Dead or Alive’ is the perfect motion picture franchise," said Mark A. Altman, COO of Mindfire Entertainment, the award-winning independent production company that produced films such critically-acclaimed films as "Free Enterprise" and "The Specials," starring Rob Lowe. "DOA has set the standard for fighting games on every next-generation gaming console and has a loyal fan base throughout the world that is eagerly anticipating the release of a feature film based on this extraordinary video game series."

Like Ming Na Wen in Street Fighter and whoever that was starring in Mortal Kombat and MK: Annihilation before them, the actors and actresses that sign up for the DOA motion picture are sure to become the talk of Tinseltown. Just look what Mindfire did with Rob Lowe, he’s on West Wing for crying out loud!

IGN will have more on the DOA movie, Mindfire Entertainment and the top ten reasons Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman won’t even be considered for the roles of Bass and Zach.
