New Nintendo cartoon series on Fox Kids...
April 5th, 2002 (12:00am) - 4Kids Entertainment the company whos relationshipe with Nintendo extended its deal with NOA last October. The deal with NOA provides 4Kids the right to tevelision rights and merchandising outside of Japan. In a recent Yahoo news article about Saturday morning cartoons the first show in this deal is revealed... sorta. It was revealed that 4Kids plans to debut 3 new cartoon shows on the Fox Kids network. Two of these new shows will be anime straight from Japan which will without a doubt be butchered for US audiences, these shows will be Kinnikuman and Ultraman Tiga. The third show which is unnamed at the moment will be a show based on a Nintendo character. No real facts are known on which Nintendo franchise will be made into cartoon form and be brought to Fox Kids. Many suspect that it will be the brand new Kirby anime that had its debut in Japan not too long ago. Others speculated that this new cartoon will be based on the Pikmin franchise since Miyamoto once said that he would like to see Pikmin as big as Pokemon and perhaps a cartoon based on the game might be the way to do it. My thoughts: Lots of Nintendo franchises could be made into cool anime shows such as Animal Leader and actually end up being somewhat interesting. If dreams do really come true then this anime will a Metroid cartoon, I would most likely cry if this were true. Hey! perhaps its that Nintendo show from back in the day which had Captain Lou Albano as Mario hosting the show... That would kick some serious arse!!!
