Seamus Blackley Leaves Microsoft
April 24th, 2002 (12:00am) - With a profound desire to resume his career in game development and create innovative software, Xbox creator Seamus Blackley has announced his resignation from Microsoft.
While this story may sound similar to the Ken Lobb/Nintendo bombshell a month back, Blackley was quick to refute those rumors in a GameSpot interview. "Im just a gamer--the reason I was doing all the press and talking to all the developers, and the reason we made the Xbox is because Im a gamer and a game developer. Its been really frustrating for me to be talking about other peoples games and to work with these great game developers worldwide, see what theyre doing, and not be making games--its hard. [The resignation] is something Ive wanted to do for a while." Head on over to GameSpot for the full interview.
