Namco and Nintendo’s press conference, much more than just Star Fox!

May 8th, 2002 (12:00am) - According to the press release and the poster image that can be seen here , Namco is definetely behind the GameCube version of a traditional Star Fox sequel. Unlike Nintendo and Amusement Vision’s F-Zero announcement a TriForce version is not set in stone.

If that news doesn’t impress you then perhaps this will. Many of us Nintendo gamers were actually thinking that Namco was just ignoring the GCN , well it turns out that we were very, very, very, wrong! Also announced at this press conference were loads of more titles for both the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. All of these games that will be released after October 2002 will actually be published by Nintendo instead of Namco themselves. Two of these titles which are both for the Nintendo GameCube are a exclusive racing title and an exclusive RPG title. Exactly what these titles are is not known at the present time , but people are calling this racer the next evolution in the Ridge Racer series and are describing this RPG to be based in a fantasy setting which will also introduce a new and innovative battle system.

Here’s the full list of titles, Ohh did I forget to mention a Tales game for the GCN? :

GBA
Family Tennis Advance 06/02
Famista Advance (Baseball) 06/02
Mr Driller Ace 08/02
Klonoa 2 08/02
Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 2 10/02
Klonoa Action-RPG 11/02
Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan 12/02
Tales of Phantasia 12/02

GameCube
Mr. Driller GC 11/02
Soul Calibur 2 01/03
New GC Racing Game 03/03
Star Fox 04/03
Tales Series game (undecided title) 07/03
New GC RPG 12/03

I would expect more information regarding all of these titles at E3 , if not then , then there’s always SpaceWorld...
