More on the Nintendo and Namco press conference , Tales Of Phantasia!

May 8th, 2002 (12:00am) - The GameCube is all of a sudden starting to look like a reincarnated Super Nintendo. And that’s a damn good thing!!!

Earlier GamersMark informed you that along with the Star Fox GCN game Namco had more games in development for the GameCube , one of the games that I mentioned was a Tales game... Well it seems that this Tales game will be Tales Of Phantasia, a remake of the unreleased (in the US) SNES game.

Tales of Phantasia for the SNES was a very good RPG , but it was never released in the USA. It pushed the limits of the SNES well beyond what anyone thought possible. It featured a battle system that hadn’t ever been used before, voice acting (remember, this is the SNES!), cool cut-scenes and awesome music. Many labeled it being too ambitious for its own good but Namco has decided to take a shot at it anyway.

The remake of Tales Of Phantasia will feature Cel Shaded visuals and unlike most games using this technique this game makes it look good.

I’ve done some searching and here are some screenshots of the game:
