Latest total GameCube and Xbox hardware sales from all over the globe!

May 24th, 2002 (12:00am) - We all know Sony is in the number one spot right now but the current battle for the number two spot is pretty interesting...

Both Nintendo and Microsoft have released more powerfull and promising consoles than Sony’s and since their release have been battling eachother for the runner-up spot. Since their launch in the U.S both consoles have seen a lackluster amount of quality titles but there are a few...

Now, let’s look at some numbers to really get a good percerption of who really is in the number two spot as of now...

Japan :
- Gamecube : 1,570,000
- Xbox : 250,000

USA :
- Gamecube : 2,230,000
- Xbox : 1,800,000

Europe :
- Gamecube : 400,000 (first week!)
- Xbox : 500,000 (since launch..sigh..)

As you see the GameCube came out on top and Capcom’s Resident Evil remake must of helped the GameCube’s US sales a great deal. The GameCube’s Japan numbers aren’t as good as I would expect especially with some great titles already released there that will not or have not been released in the US such as Animal Forest Plus, Animal Leader, RUNE,Battle Housin, Rave: The Groove Adventure and Doshin The Giant. But both of these two consoles have a very promising second year , much more promising than the PS2’s in my own opinion.
