What’s up with Mario Kart?

May 30th, 2002 (12:00am) - Any good Nintendo fan would know that Miyamoto and his EAD team have been hard at work with the next installment for the GameCube Mario Kart for awhile. Infact according to Miyamoto the game could have even been playable at this years E3.

So why in the hell wasn’t it?!!!

Well, according to a question answered by Miyamoto in a roundtable Q&A at E3 , Mario Kart may be in for some drastic changes in the near future so previewing the current build would be almost pointless (but Silicon Knights Demo-ing a fake version of Eternal Darkness at E3 isn’t right?). Also Nintendo has a tentative release for this game sometime after next year’s E3 so according to Miyamoto they don’t want to reveal anything too early.
