Namco developing an unbelievable amount of games...
June 24th, 2002 (12:00am) - The gaming giant, Namco held an shareholders meeting over the weekend, and much is going on in the house that Pac-Man built...: "Over the weekend, Namco held its shareholders meeting and announced its consolidated statement for the financial term ending March 2002. Sales changed to 89.5 billion yen, a 3 percent decrease compared with the preceding term. The company moved back into the black with a 5.3 billion yen profit (compared with a 3.99 billion yen loss from the previous term), ending with revenue of 1.97 billion yen this fiscal year. The consumer software division had a 4 percent increase in sales with the release of PlayStation 2 titles such as Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies and Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht. The company expects a continuing increase in sales and plans to release 69 titles for the console, as well as 30 titles for the arcades (some of which will make use of storage mediums) this fiscal year." Namco does indeed have an incredible amount of titles in development for the PS2 but all is not quite on the Nintendo front. Namco is in development with many GameCube titles such as Star Fox Armada, Tales Of Phantasia, Soul Calibur II, Mr.Driller, and a yet un-named RPG for the GCN, as well as ports of a few of the 69 PS2 titles planned.
