June 26^th, 2002 (12:00am) - London, June 25th 2002 - Infogrames is delighted to announce that MicroMachines is back. They’ve dusted themselves off and escaped from their packaging to bring their unique style of miniaturised racing action to Sony’s PlayStation2™ video games console and the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft.

MicroMachines is one of the strongest and most successful franchises in the history of video games. It has now been updated to take advantage of the processing power of next-generation consoles, and offers the same fast-paced top-down racing with miniature vehicles that has made MicroMachines games so popular in the past… and then some! The gameplay is more varied than ever before, with a huge variety of tracks and levels in many different environments. There is also a large selection of vehicles on offer for next-gen gamers.

More attention has also been lavished on the characters. Players have eight new characters to choose from, each with their own personalities, special abilities and choice of vehicles to add more diversity than ever to the MicroMachines experience. Up to four players can compete at once in this fast and furious 3D racing extravaganza.

Developed by Infogrames Sheffield House, MicroMachines will be published on PS2 and Xbox in November 2002.
