Microsofts August Silicon Valley Speaker Series Focuses on Xbox Live
August 14th, 2002 (12:00am) - On Wednesday, Aug. 21, Microsoft Corp.s Silicon Valley Speaker Series will feature John ORourke, director of worldwide Xbox(TM) marketing, who will discuss the revolutionary online video gaming service Xbox Live, which will be released this fall. ORourke will provide insight into the features of the Xbox Live service, such as voice communication, matchmaking, content downloads, and the ability to find friends online and maintain a single identity across all games. ORourke also will present a sneak peek of the video game titles slated for release this holiday season, as well as update the audience on the next version of some popular Xbox signature games, including "Halo(TM)" and "Project Gotham Racing(TM)." The Silicon Valley Speaker Series, held monthly at the Microsoft Silicon Valley campus, is part lecture and part interactive forum in which company executives and industry observers address a variety of technologies, trends and topics relevant to the fast-moving high-technology world.
