Bye Bye Left Field Says Nintendo.

September 13th, 2002 (12:00am) - Today, Left Field Studios has finally made it official that they are no longer a Nintendo second party developer. The company had purchased all of the shares Nintendo owned back, ending the two companies 5-year relationship.

"We’ve had a very good relationship with Nintendo over the years and we’ve learned a lot from working with them," said Left Field president Mike Lamb. "However, since we have not been developing games directly for them since the start of the year, both sides decided it made sense to reverse the investment. We wish them every success for the future and will continue to support Nintendo’s hardware."

Left Field’s first 3rd party title will be a Backyard Football title , the title will be published by Infogrames. Currently , Left Field is busy on their next multi-platform title.
