Capcom Loves Nintendo!!!

September 17th, 2002 (12:00am) - "Several of Capcom’s high-profile directors have recently let slip lots of hints regarding software that they are currently over-seeing; most of which, Nintendo fans will no doubt be excited to hear, deals with the GameCube.

First and foremost, Shinji Mikami has told Famitsu that he is working on two exclusive projects for the Nintendo GameCube, besides any installments in the Resident Evil series.

Japanese gaming publication Dengeki also got the scoop on some projects at Capcom; Mikami’s division is working on an action/adventure game titled Cas-Ra for the GC. The game has already been discussed before, but no details are known about it.

Hiroki Kata, the director of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and a member of Mikami’s R&D team also told Dengeki he’s working on an exclusive GameCube project. Sources have lead us to believe that this is, in fact, Cas-Ra.

Furthermore, Hideki Kamiya, the "hip cat" who dreamed up Devil May Cry, has also gone on record to say that he has left the direction of Devil May Cry 2 to another individual in his division to work on another exclusive piece of software for the GC. Recently, on Capcom’s Official Website, Kamiya dropped hints about a game called "Project Devil" for Nintendo’s hardware.

That’s a lot of exclusive software from Capcom’s new generation of development stars for the GameCube. Thanks to EAD Ninja for the tips, and remember to keep your eyes on GAF when TGS rolls around. We’ll have more on these games when the Tokyo Game Show begins on the 20th this month.
