Next Donkey Kong title to be developed internally by Nintendo...
September 24th, 2002 (12:00am) - For the past few years , European developer and new Microsoft affiliate , Rare had been in charge of developing titles based on the Nintendo franchise Donkey Kong. With Rare and Nintendo parting way the future of Donkey Kong was questioned by some, but the smelly ape lives on! Nintendos George Harrison let the word slip out that a Donkey Kong is planned for the Nintendo GameCube and will be developed internally by Nintendos own EAD.
Below is a quote from Harrison in an interview with CNN: "We actually have a new Star Fox game under way," he said. "We have Namco developing that in Japan. ... It is a GameCube game. My understanding is it will come out in the second half of 2003. And were going to be getting started on our own Donkey Kong product internally." My thoughts: Very interesting, Rare put the series to same after Donkey Kong Country 2 , creating new and stupid characters, and dont tell me you forgot about the DK rap?
