Peter Main comes out of retirement but this time instead of going back to Nintendo he’s what?!!!! Mega Bloks?

October 9th, 2002 (12:00am) - Mega Bloks Inc., a leading construction toy maker, welcomed veteran video game executive Peter T. Main to its board of directors, where he will sit as an independent director. From 1987 until his retirement earlier this year, Mr. Main was Executive Vice-President of Nintendo of America, Inc. in Redmond, Washington.

"We are very excited about adding Peter to our Board. Peter’s impressive record in contributing to the development and success of Nintendo and his experience in the fast-growing youth marketing environment will be of great benefit to the Board. We look forward to having his counsel and support as we continue to leverage our competitive strengths and develop the Mega Bloks brand," said Mr. Marc Bertrand, President and CEO of Mega Bloks Inc.

Among the primary achievements credited to Peter Main and his team at Nintendo are the significant sales growth of the firm’s software titles and hardware platforms in his fifteen years at the firm. Prior to joining Nintendo, Main, a native of Canada, held senior positions in the food, beverage and hospitality industries after starting his marketing career with Colgate Palmolive in 1964.

"I am happy to join such an energetic and capable team," Main commented. "I look forward to participating in guiding the Company to the realization of its growth strategy," he added.

Main replaces Guy Savard, Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Canada Inc. and Chairman of Merrill’s Québec operations, who is stepping down in compliance with Merrill’s internal policy regarding service on the boards of companies with which it has an investment banking relationship. "Guy was an invaluable member of our Board for over six years and he provided tremendous guidance to us on many important projects, including our successful Initial Public Offering in May of this year. We regret that Guy has to resign from the Board and wish him every success in the future," Bertrand stated.
