Hitman 2 commerical banned! Buwhahahaha

October 11th, 2002 (12:00am) - An interesting twist on Friday news, we come with a follow-up report on our recently premiered Hitman2 TV Spot . As part of our massive TV campaign for Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, we had slated our original creative to air across selected major cable networks, however, in an interesting turn of events, numerous networks opted NOT to run the spot as it was originally intended. VH-1, MTV, MTV 2, TNN, UPN, ABC Sports, Comedy Central, Sci-fi, and USA all declined to air the original spot! The following is some of the reasoning behind denial of the commercial...

"Glorifies Violence"... "strong violence depicted "
"Over the top sexual content"
"the game looked a little too realistic and that people might not know that it was just a game"

In an effort to support the games strong momentum, and continue to bring Hitman 2 to the people, we’ve tapped into the games epic "orchestral score" and made a brand new Hitman 2 commercial that has been approved by almost all of the networks. Unfortunately, ABC still declined to have anything to do with Hitman, but that’s...ok. Take an exclusive, FIRST EVER look at this new, "less controversial" commercial! Hopefully this will prevent the game from feeling the same wrath of censorship.

My Thoughts

i found this to be extremely funny. Eidos has basicly denied us reviewable copies of Hitman 2, so now that the bull has come around to bit’em in the ass, i feel is well deserved =] got commericals?
