Enix plans to unveil its latest title in the Dragon Quest series at the end of the year at the Jump Festival 2003...
November 5th, 2002 (12:00am) - It’s been along time coming and soon gamers will finally get a chance to see the newest installment for arguably greatest RPG franchise, Dragon Quest. Gameplay details, the console it will appear on, and other nifty tidbits are first expected to be revealed at the Jump Festival in Japan. Many have been speculating for awhile that the next Dragon Quest will be GameCube exclusive and now there’s more fuel to feed the fire since the game’s unveiling is planned for “the end of the year”. What significance does that have? Well, Nintendo’s Megaton announcement is planned for “the end of the year” and Dragon Quest going GameCube exclusive would move tons of consoles in Japan. Of course those speculating can be very, very, wrong and the title could very likely appear on the Playstation 2. The X-box is completely out of the picture, Sega might be foolish enough to support the Xbox strongly and fail miserably but Enix will not make the same mistake since the X-box is a flop in Japan… Japan is Enix’s main market.
