Sonic the Hedgehog and Virtua Fighter go multiplatform...
November 21st, 2002 (12:00am) - Segas Tetsu Kayama mentioned at a recent press conference that in order to earn more profit Sega will become more lenient with console exclusives. He mentioned Segas two best selling franchises in recent history Sonic (Sonic Adventure 2/GameCube) and Virtua Fighter (Virtua Fighter 4/Playstation 2) will go multiplatform in some way and will not stay with a specific console. Kayama also mentioned that previous Xbox exclusive titles would appear on the GameCube and/or PS2 in the near future. My Thoughts: I wonder what Yuji Naka thinks about this? He prefers the GameCube hardware over the others, and Ive also read that he isnt fond of the PS2 hardware at all. But what about games like Virtua Fighter Quest for the GameCube? Will that go multiplatform as well? Also, what about Shenmue II? Microsoft owns the publishing rights for the title so it is very possible that Shenmue II will stay exclusive to the Xbox.
