Sega and THQ bring Jet Grind Radio to the GBA...

December 5th, 2002 (12:00am) - THQ and SEGA Corporation today announced that THQ will publish "Jet Grind Radio" for the Game Boy Advance. Scheduled to ship in Spring 2003, Jet Grind Radio is part of THQ’s and SEGA’s multi-title exclusive publishing agreement.

"Jet Grind Radio is a great addition to our Game Boy Advance library," said Alison Locke, executive vice president, North American publishing, THQ. "The success of Sonic Advance for Game Boy Advance and other top THQ published SEGA brands speaks to the popularity of handheld gaming and its continued growth."

"SEGA is known for its innovative and genre-defying content," said Shinobu Toyoda, executive vice president of content strategy and business development, SEGA of America, Inc. "With the release of Jet Grind Radio for the Game Boy Advance, SEGA and THQ are delivering one of the industry’s most popular urban adventures, which combines edgy elements of the streets, graffiti art, skating and music, to the handheld gaming audience."

The hip-hop Dreamcast hit makes its way to the Game Boy Advance. "Jet Grind Radio" returns in true 3D, blasting through exciting and diverse levels with a complex AI engine that brings huge game levels, spanning over five different city environments, alive. The game features over 10 playable characters each with their own style, personality, and abilities. As Professor K scratches hip-hop and techno beats, players can explore multiple game modes including one-on-one races, freestyle skating for points, timed tagging sessions and the single player mission based mode. Multiplayer modes allow for up to four players to challenge each other in five styles of play.

Modes of Play:

-Out Tag: Players race against the clock to out spray the competition before time expires.

-Turf Wars: Friends team up to control the most turf.

-Jet: Players race in a dash to the finish line.

-Throw down: Players go one-on-one to out tag each other.

-Tricky: Players earn points with massive grinds and crazy tricks.

My Thoughts

Shouldn’t it be renamed to Jet Set Radio like the other US versions?
