Nintendos Shigeru Miyamoto confirms the development of Pikmin 2 and Mario 128 in Playboy!
December 10th, 2002 (12:00am) - In the most unlikely of places, Nintendos Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed to the Japanese weekly publication of Playboy that he is currently working on two new games that will be released after Zelda. These games are Pikmin 2 and the mysterious Mario 128.
When asked the question of what he has planned for after Zelda he responded by saying, ""Were developing Pikmin 2 and the Mario 128 that we showed to everyone at a press announcement earlier. You will feel something new in this game that wasnt in Mario Sunshine." Mr. Miyamoto also comments about Super Mario Sunshine. He believes that Super Mario Sunshine was just a deluxe version of Super Mario 64, and that it did not feature enough new innovations to produce huge sales. "When you start thinking that you have to raise the number of consoles , you realize that having a lot of brand names is important. ...But I still want to make new things." My Thoughts Interesting, we were always meant to believe that the Mario 128 tech demo from SpaceWorld 2000 transformed into the original Pikmin. Im very curious to know what Mario 128 could be, and the announcement of Pikmin 2 is great to hear as well. Everyone has always thought that Pikmin could make a great Online title and perhaps that is what both of these are. Well get answers in time, but its just easier to say "Wait till E3".
