Metal Gear Solid GameCube Bound!!!
December 13th, 2002 (12:00am) - Konami is one of the few major game makers left in Japan that hasnt given Nintendos console the time of day, having released only some sad Disney sports titles over the past year. Despite the system being the 2nd highest selling console in Japan, trouncing the xbox, and only trailing in the US, the maker of such hits as Castlevania and MGS has steered clear of announcing anything major for the console. The company might finally be seeing the light.
The latest rumor is that sometime next week Konami might announce a MGS-related title for the Cube. If accurate, this game will most likely turn out to be MGS2: Substance, but its also been stated the title could be a remake of Metal Gear Solid for the PSOne. The exact details of this "remake" are unknown, wether it just be a slightly altered version of the original game, or more along the lines of Capcoms RE Remake. If it be the former, then this announcement can be considered just a slap in the face to Nitendo, and its fans. However, a remake of MGS utilizing the power of the GameCube, could be very interesting. Its a known fact that MGS for the PSOne was more warmly recieved then MGS2: Sons of Liberty or MGS2: Substance, *cough-Raiden-cough!* So if the announcement does come to pass, a full-on MGS Remake would be better then nothing. More as it breaks. My Thoughts This is nothing but dodo in a bag. I doubt its true but if it is Im hoping for the Solid 1 remake! Either way Snake is too far from home and too late to come back and make a big difference. Not to mention if it is a remake. The PS2 will have is one day or another. ~ditto~
