Sales in Taiwan exceed expectations

December 14th, 2002 (12:00am) - Even though the Xbox has failed to make an impact on the Japanese market, the console is selling at a rate which has exceeded expectations in both Taiwan and South Korea.

While Japanese retailers slash prices to boost sales of the console, demand in Taiwan has amazed distributors Synnex. No sales figures have yet been released, but Microsofts marketing strategies are doing what they failed to do in Japan and actually selling hardware.
