Virtua Fighter Quest scheduled to be released on the GameCube by the end of 2003…

January 9th, 2003 (12:00am) - Yesterday’s recent hall of fame winner for game development, AM2’s Yu Suzuki, has just recently commented about the status of the highly anticipated Virtua Fighter Quest for the Nintendo GameCube. He has reiterated that Virtua Fighter Quest will feature tons of RPG-like features in the game, and that the game will be more kid friendly than any of the Virtua Fighter 3D fighters (Super Deformed Characters anyone?). AM2 says that they have a strict goal of completing the game by the end of 2003, since it marks the tenth anniversary of the Virtua Fighter franchise. Unfortunately, for us gamers overseas, it seems that Virtua Fighter Quest will only make its 2003 deadline for Japan only.

No other details are known about this adventure RPG but I have a feeling it will play like Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda or Secret of Mana, but that’s just my gut feeling so don’t quote me.
