The console version of Soul Calibur 2 to be unveiled next week with the GameCube version furthest in development…

January 9th, 2003 (12:00am) - Next week Namco will hold a press event to finally show off the console version of Soul Calibur 2. For all of those who are unaware, Soul Calibur 2 is the sequel to one of the greatest fighting games of all times, and the title that made Sega’s Dreamcast a must own console (too bad not too many people knew that…).

At next weeks unveiling of Soul Calibur 2, it is expected for only the GameCube version of the title to be showcased. When asked why only the GameCube version of the game would be displayed Namco affiliates stated that “The GameCube version is somewhat the master copy and that it’s the farthest along then the other versions”. Namco has also confirmed that each console will feature at least one exclusive fighter to the game, for the GameCube Link from the Ocarina of Time will be one (I would rather see the bad ass Oni Link) and for the Playstation 2 Spawn (Why?) is expected to be a secret character. As for the Xbox version, not a single person has a clue of what the secret character will be but I’m thinking that it’s going to be Blinx…
