Ubi Soft Announces Shadowbane Ship Date and Launch...

January 10th, 2003 (12:00am) - San Francisco - January 09, 2003 - Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the top 10
video game publishers in the world, today launched two new web sites for
Shadowbane, the highly anticipated massively multi-player online (MMO) game.
Shadowbane is being developed by Austin, Texas-based Wolfpack Studios, and
offers a ground breaking approach to MMO gaming that allows players to
permanently change the history, politics and landscape of the game.

The company has unveiled the Chronicle of Strife, an extensive community
site for Shadowbane players at http://shadowbane.ubi.com
<http://shadowbane.ubi.com> . Besides daily announcements and updates, the
Chronicle of Strife features in-depth details of Shadowbane races, classes
and disciplines, interviews with the developers and an encyclopedia
containing the lore of Aerynth. The site also features a newspaper-styled
College of Heralds in which community members report on the evolving
politics, religion, war, commerce and other events occurring in the live
game world. Ubi Soft has also re-launched Shadowbane.com with a new look and
updated information about the game.

Since its launch last year, the Shadowbane beta test has attracted tens of
thousands of players. The company is targeting a March 25th ship date for
Shadowbane and plans to continue to expand its beta test over the coming
months.

Shadowbane has been called "The Next Great Online RPG" by Computer Gaming
World. The game offers online gamers an unparalleled challenge that
combines role-playing and strategy. Shadowbane is the first MMO to offer a
Dynamic World Model, in which players’ actions and decisions permanently
change the history, politics and landscape of the game. For the very first
time in an MMO, players will be able to determine how the game evolves by
building and managing cities, organizing armies, and laying siege to other
player-owned kingdoms.
