Metroid Prime to get a sequel!
January 23rd, 2003 (12:00am) - It seems that Metroid fans will not have to wait another eight years for a Metroid Prime sequel. IGNcube.com has learned that Retro Studios is in the planning stages for a sequel to the AAA game title, Metroid Prime. An internal announcement was made at Retro confirming that Nintendo has given the okay for development on the title to begin.
No details have been revealed, since everything is in the pre-production phase, but the idea of multiplayer has been tossed around at the Texas based developer. The game has a tentative release for sometime in 2004. My Thoughts:You see, those who wait always get rewarded. First, we get two excellent Metroid games, then we get a Metroid movie, and now while we still ride the tidal wave that is Metroid Prime we receive a sequel to it. Unfortunately, I do not support the idea of multiplayer in a sequel, and seeing how Metroid Prime plays so radically different from any FPS, I don’t know how it could be pulled off without changing the game’s engine.
