February 6th, 2003 (12:00am) - Criterion, the game studio responsible for the insanely fun Burnout games, has announced that third party game developer Infogrames will utilize Criterion’s RenderWare development tool on future game titles. The use of the RenderWare platform for game development will strengthen efficiencies in developing games across multiple platforms and reduce their development time, or in other words make better games in less time. RenderWare is already being utilized for the development of 12 titles on platforms including the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC. Scott Walker, Vice President of Development, Infogrames explains, "Having used RenderWare in the past, weve seen the positive impact of this technology on our ability to efficiently create quality games across multiple platforms. We believe this new deal will ensure that those benefits are now channeled across the organization at a global level." Andy Price, Vice President of North American Operations, Criterion Software says, "Were delighted that the relationship has continued to grow in this way, and it demonstrates our commitment to supporting customers on a global level. It shows great endorsement for RenderWare from the publisher community and is a major milestone for us in our strategy to support the development and publishing communities, and meeting their needs both of today and tomorrow."
