Microsoft To Install LIVE in all Xbox Systems
February 11th, 2003 (12:00am) -
Microsoft has begun pre-installing the Xbox Live software on new Xboxes. The Xbox Live service, which allows users to play compatible games over the internet, was launched on November 15, 2002. Although the necessary software now comes pre-installed, users will still need a subscription code to activate the service. Users will also want the headset, dubbed the Xbox Communicator, to talk to their allies and opponents while playing online. Both are included in the Xbox Live Starter Kit, which costs $49.99. No word on whether Microsoft will sell activation codes via the net, or perhaps by a phone call. Reported by Kyle Johnson on February 11th, 2003 (12:00am) [From: ActiveXbox.com]
