Konami’s first noteworthy GameCube game…

February 16th, 2003 (12:00am) - Konami’s American GameCube line-up has been less than stellar. Aside from a few Disney based Sports games; there hasn’t been a single noteworthy game from Konami on the GameCube. Overseas in Japan is a different situation, where Konami has released, and will release, a horde of “cool” anime based games for the GameCube, but unfortunately for us, not one of them will come to our shores. Well, Konami hasn’t shafted non-Japanese GCN owners just yet. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was just the beginning, and now another classic Konami franchise is coming back, to where many consider it to be its home…Contra: Shattered Soldier is coming to the GameCube.

As of the moment details are shady, and all assumption point to a simple port of the title from the PS2 to the GameCube. Contra: Shattered Soldier is scheduled for a mid-2003 release.
