The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time edited for its GameCube release…
February 19th, 2003 (12:00am) - When The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was first released for the Nintendo 64, it went through a tiny bit of controversy. The thing got some people all pissy, was the audio track in the Fire Temple, which featured people chanting “God is Great” in Muslim. Personally, I though that was a great affect and really added to the mood of that particular dungeon, but sadly Nintendo had edited the chant out and then began to release versions of Ocarina of Time that did not feature the chant, but instead a humming noise, that actually isn’t too bad of an alternative. Aside from that, the red blood Ganondorf would spit up when fighting Link at Ganon’s Castle would be edited to be green blood, instead of red… something which just really didn’t need to have been done. Well, for the GameCube pre-order deal, Ocarina of Time is not the original version that I have inserted into my Nintendo 64 at this very moment, but instead the edited version that came along afterwards…
Sucks don’t it?
