February 21^st, 2003 (12:00am) - You would think they would wait a little bit longer before announcing a new Mortal Kombat game, but seeing how the game performed extremely well… Why the hell not?

Today, Midway held a conference call, where they discussed the publishing giant’s future plans. At the conference Midway announced that they are in development, or in the planning stages, for a slew of new titles, for platforms that, as of yet, have not been decided. Amongst these new titles is an unnamed First Person Shooter, an unnamed survival adventure game, a remake of the game Narc (which I haven’t heard of ever before, actually I think it’s about that movie that came out recently…Wait, maybe not.), and the last title mentioned, was none other than the next installment in the Mortal Kombat series. In a smart move to grab people’s attention, since other than Mortal Kombat, people don’t even really know Midway exist, Midway has made comparisons with these new titles, to established and popular videogame franchises such as Metal Gear, and Resident Evil. Does this mean these games will be good? When I realize that it’s Midway that we’re talking about…No.
