Malice Delayed Again

February 21st, 2003 (12:00am) - Argonaut confirmed that the Xbox title, Malice, would be delayed once again to an unspecified date in the autumn. Early versions of Malice were used as tech demos to show the graphical power of the xbox. As of late, it seems, that might be the only useful purpose of this game.

The UK publisher admitted that the delay would have a ‘significant impact’ on the developers’ financial year results, and sequentially saw a slight drop in their share value. The troubled development times of Malice have earned the game more coverage then the actual title.

Malice was used to showcase the Xbox visual power long before the final machine spec was released; despite it’s early showing, Malice is still no- where near to being released. The games publishers changed from Microsoft Game Studios to Sierra, who promptly gave control to Vivendi Universal Interactive.

Malice is 3D action-adventure game featuring a tough, funny, magic abusing wannabe Goddess called Malice! The player must guide Malice through 22 levels of Elemental chaos to break free of the twisted time- loops & change the devastating histories that drive the game’s uniquely evolutionary worlds.

Malice has been tapped for a release this fall. No word if the PlayStation 2 version was also delayed, or if it only concerns the Xbox version.
