The Hobbit no longer GameCube exclusive…

February 25th, 2003 (12:00am) - Vivendi Universal’s ‘The Hobbit’ was announced long ago for the Nintendo GameCube, but since then the game has been stripped of its GameCube exclusivity. The game which is scheduled to be released at the end of the year will be released on the GameCube, PS2, Xbox, PC and GBA, with different teams and developers working with each version to utilize their respective console’s strengths. Though, the GameCube version of ‘The Hobbit’ is still the lead project and will be the first playable version of the game to be shown in mid March.

The game itself will play very similar to Nintendo’s own Legend of Zelda games, to give the Tolkein literary classic the best transition into the videogame world as possible...

“But we dursn’t go in, precious, no we dursn’t. Goblinses down there. Lot’s of goblinses. We smells them. Ssss!.”
