Next year’s Blitz and Hitz franchises go online, but for which console(s)?

April 10th, 2003 (12:00am) - Earlier this week, Midway announced that the company’s next installments of the Blitz Pro and Hitz Pro games would feature online multiplayer. Well, today Midway has clarified that next year’s games will feature online play only for the Playstation 2 versions of the games. It was suspected since the game’s official announcement that an online version of the game wouldn’t hit the GameCube, but hearing the news that it won’t feature online play for the Xbox is a SHOCKER.

In similar news, Midway has confirmed that its SlugFest franchise will also undergo a change for next year’s installment. Will it go the same direction as the two Pro games? That cannot be answered at the moment, but it may very well depend on the performance of the recently release SlugFest 20-04.
