Shinji Mikami steps down as chief of Capcom’s Production Studio 4…
April 24th, 2003 (12:00am) - Shinji Mikami, the famed creator of the Resident Evil franchise, has stepped down as the chief producer of Capcom’s most respected development studio, Production Studio 4. Mikami will still remain as one of the head producers within the studio, however, the control he had over it as a whole has been lessened. The reasons for this move is supposedly due to disappointing sales of his last two releases, Biohazard 0 and P.N. 03, as well as the fact that Mikami himself wants to concentrate all his efforts on game production.
Speaking of Production Studio 4… The studio’s 5 exclusive GameCube titles are not amongst the 18 Capcom games canned.
