April 30th, 2003 (12:00am) - Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) announced today the development of Metal Arms for the Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube. Developed by Swingin Ape, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a third-person shooter for Xbox and GameCube that combines fast-paced action, several varied gameplay types, and hilarious undertones, all set on a distant planet inhabited exclusively by robots. As the adventure unfolds, players will explore fascinating regions of this robot planet, drive a vast array of vehicles, gain powerful weapon upgrades, and defeat enemies to ensure the survival of the Droid race. The games humorous tone and unique robotic look ensure a truly original game. "Metal Arms: Glitch in the System combines the perfect balance between entertaining storytelling and rock-solid gameplay," said Jim Wilson, EVP of Development, VU Games. Metal Arms is an action-packed robotic shooter set in a vast mechanical world with over 30 missions and multiple environments. Glitch must save the inhabitants of Iron Star from the clutches of General Corrosive and his minions. From shooting and driving to possessing enemy bots and solving puzzles, the quest to ensure the survival of one race will be dependent on one remarkable hero. Metal Arms also boasts a smorgasbord of witty writing and story elements. Metal Arms: Glitch in the System will be available in Q4, 2003 on Xbox and Nintendo GameCube for a suggested retail price of $49.99 with an expected ESRB "Teen" rating.
