Infogrames changes their name…

May 6th, 2003 (12:00am) - The German website MCV has reported that video game publishing giant (and one of my personal favorites) Infogrames will change its name to one that used to be the most established name in the gaming business more than two decades ago. If you look at the boxes of some Infogrames titles, such as Ikaruga, Apex, Godzilla, or Test Drive, you will notice that the Atari label is stamped on the cover. That established name I was talking about is Atari. Infogrames acquired the Atari name just two years ago when the company purchased Hasbro Interactive. The official name change is expected to be announced at this month’s E3.

Perhaps, Atari can become a household name once again…
