For decades Nile Rodgers has been known for spotting new trends and opportunities in music. “Videogames are essentially a showcase for new talent,” said Rodgers. “It’s a great opportunity to get up and coming talent in front of new ears. With the music business in disarray, this is a great way to break future bands.”

“With today’s new audiences spending more and more time playing video games, it only seemed logical to team up with the labels and create an original soundtrack,” said Peter von Schlossberg, vice president of marketing and sales for Viacom’s Simon & Schuster Interactive unit. “Together with Nile, we took it a step further using Outlaw Volleyball as a vehicle to break new music rather than just to create a compilation soundtrack of published songs.”
