Sonic Adventure DX Director’s Cut for the GameCube in stores now!
June 17th, 2003 (12:00am) - Roll out the red carpet - SEGA of America today announced the return of Sonic The Hedgeho on Nintendo GameCube in "Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut." An enhanced version of the original "Sonic Adventure" - one of SEGAs top selling games of all time - "Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut" features more than five hours of new gameplay, including an all-new Mission Mode with more than 50 missions and lots of hidden surprises.
"The original Sonic Adventure was one of our most popular blockbusters and we are thrilled to bring this updated version to the Nintendo GameCube," said Mike Fischer, vice president of marketing, SEGA of America. "With the launch of Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut, an all-new dedicated Sonic site, and the upcoming debut of Sonic-themed McDonalds Happy Meal premiums, our favorite hedgehog is everywhere this summer!" In "Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut," its up to Sonic and his pals to save the planet from the evil Dr. Eggman, who has returned to once again try his hand at world domination. The evil Doctors scheme is to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds and raise the all-powerful Chaos monster to do his bidding. Entangled in Dr. Eggmans sinister plot, Sonic must enlist the help of his friends Amy, Tails, Knuckles and Big to foil Eggmans every move. The game features a graphically-enhanced 3D world that harnesses the power of the Nintendo GameCube; six playable characters each with his/her own skills and abilities as well as 30 massive levels, over-the-top boss battles and mini-games featuring the one-of-a-kind Chao AI characters. In addition, "Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut" connects to "Sonic Pinball Party," "Sonic Advance" and "Sonic Advance 2" via the Nintendo GameCube-Game Boy Advance cable for endless on-the-go Chao-raising fun. Finally, "Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut" features an all-new Mission Mode with 50 mini-missions, allowing gamers to discover exclusive items and unlockable secrets, including 12 hidden classic SEGA Game Gear titles.
