July 3rd, 2003 (12:00am) - Once again, Media Create has released its latest batch of weekly Japanese hardware & software sales charts.
Software:
On the software side of things, Segas Initial D tops off this weeks sales charts followed by Nintendos third incarnation of Animal Forest (Animal Crossing overseas) which sold more than 100,000 pieces in its first week. Speaking of Sega, over the past few weeks their PlayStation 2 titles, such as Initial D and J League Pro Soccer, have performed extremely well.

Hardware:
Some things never change and hardware sales in Japan is one of them. Sure, every so often things will slightly deviate from their regular paths, but it all comes back full circle at some point or another. With that said, the PlayStation 2 once again reins supreme with the GBA SP on its tail, and the GameCube in 3rd. However, the Xbox has surprisingly taken a huge jump from its normal performance, selling more than 1,000 units for the first time in months, something which is mostly likely due to the release of Capcoms third installment in the Dino Crisis series, Dino Crisis 3.
